{"id":154,"date":"2010-06-05T14:33:25","date_gmt":"2010-06-05T13:33:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/knit.colourfuldesigns.co.uk\/?p=154"},"modified":"2010-06-05T17:38:05","modified_gmt":"2010-06-05T16:38:05","slug":"building-a-tri-loom","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/knit.colourfuldesigns.co.uk\/?p=154","title":{"rendered":"Building a Tri-Loom"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I decided to build a  Tri-Loom, after seeing Thiftwizard&#8217;s Tri-loom when I visited  her house for a spin-In.<br \/>\nI haven&#8217;t found any where in the UK that sells them, and to be honest its no great feat of engineering to make one.<\/p>\n<p>I went to B&amp;Q to look for suitable wood, they don&#8217;t sell Hard woods, but did have some fairly hard smooth planed wood. I bought a pack of 4, 2.1m x 44mm x 34mm.<br \/>\nThe resulting loom is 2m on the inside edge of the long side. Which should make a nice sized shawl for someone my height.<br \/>\nFor those who have no idea what I am going on about, have a look at some <a href=\"http:\/\/www.waynesthisandthat.com\/triloom2.htm\" target=\"_blank\">building instructions here<\/a>.\u00a0 I also took some inspiration from this <a href=\"http:\/\/hand-woven.blogspot.com\/2007\/01\/building-my-triangle-loom.html\" target=\"_blank\">blog<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I chose to set my nails on the hypotenuse (longest side) at 1cm (3\/8inch), giving me 2oo on each side.\u00a0 I figured that 1\/2inch that everywhere seems to recommend would give me too loose a weave for the yarns I am likely to use.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I decided to build a Tri-Loom, after seeing Thiftwizard&#8217;s Tri-loom when I visited her house for a spin-In.
